To remove, install and replace the rear wheel brake drum on a car, you will need: «on 7», two mounting blades, rubber or polymer hammer.
1. Engage 1st gear and place chocks under the front wheels.
2. Check that the parking brake lever is pushed all the way down (the car is disinhibited).
3. Remove the front wheel and clean the brake mechanism from dirt.
4. Turn out two adjusting pins.
5. Apply liquid wrench type WD-40 to the hub and, after waiting a few minutes, clean off dirt and rust from this place.
6. Use a rubber or polymer hammer to remove the brake drum from the hub.
7. Remove the brake drum from the hub. If this fails, knock it down with a rubber mallet or compress it by evenly screwing pins or suitable bolts into the two threaded holes in the brake drum.
8. When installing an old brake drum, remove the shoulder on its working surface with a file, which was formed as a result of wear.
9. Establish on the car a back brake drum in an order, the return to removal. Pre-lubricate the seat belt of the hub with graphite grease or LSC-15 grease and bring the brake pads together using two mounting blades.
10. Check the ease of rotation of the wheel. It is allowed to lightly rub the brake drum against the brake shoes. With the vehicle on the ground, depress the brake pedal two or three times to bring the brake pads to the brake drum.
