Note: The minimum allowable thickness of the brake disc is 17.8 mm. If the thickness of the brake disc is less, it must be replaced.
To remove, install and replace the front brake disc on a car, you will need: a 7 mm wrench, a 17 mm socket wrench (head).
1. Remove the front brake caliper on the appropriate side (see "Removal and installation the front brake slave cylinder").
2. Hang the brake mechanism with a rope or wire to the front suspension parts. Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted or stretched too much.
3. Unscrew the two mounting bolts and remove the brake shoe guide bracket.
4. Clean the brake disc from dirt. Apply a liquid such as WD-40 liquid wrench to the areas where the brake rotor meets the hub and to the guide pins. Wait a little while for the rust to dissolve.
5. Unscrew the two guide pins and remove the brake disc.
6. Install the brake disc on the vehicle in reverse order. If you are installing an old brake disc, use a file to remove the ridges formed as a result of wear on the brake disc from both sides.
