Description and characteristics of LADA Priora cars

LADA Priora — a family compact car (C-segment), which was produced by the Russian company AvtoVAZ from March 2007 to July 2018. It is a front-wheel drive car with a front transverse internal combustion engine. The internal factory code for the base model was "VAZ-2170". It replaced the outdated "VAZ-2110", the production of which was stopped in July 2007, and in 2018 the Priora was replaced "Lada Vesta". As of 2018, more than 1 million vehicles have been produced.

Lada Priora was created to compete with foreign cars such as Chery Bonus, Chevrolet Aveo, Daewoo Nexia, Fiat Punto, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Getz, Kia Rio, LIFAN Breez, Mitsubishi Colt, Nissan Almera, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, Renault Symbol, Renault Logan, Skoda Fabia, TagAZ Corda, Toyota Yasris, Volkswagen Polo, ZAZ Chance.

At various times, four body styles were available: a four-door sedan (since 2007, VAZ-2170, length 4350 mm, width 1680 mm, height 1420 mm), five-door station wagon (since 2008, VAZ-2171, length 4330 mm, width 1680 mm, height 1508 mm), three-door coupe/hatchback (since 2010, VAZ-21726, length 4210 mm, width 1680 mm, height 1435 mm) or a five-door hatchback (since 2008, VAZ-2172, length 4210 mm, width 1680 mm, height 1420 mm), replacing itself "VAZ-2112". The wheelbase was 2492 mm, the curb weight was 1088-1160 kg. The interior was developed with the participation of the Italian design studio "Carcerano".

The Priora was equipped with four models of petrol four-cylinder engines with a volume of 1.6 liters (1596 cm³) and the following characteristics:

• "VAZ-21114", 8 valves, injector, Euro 3, 82 hp.
• "VAZ-21116", 8 valves, injector, Euro 4, 90 hp.
• "VAZ-21126", 16 valves, injector, Euro 4, 98 hp.
• "VAZ-21127", 16 valves, injector, Euro 4, 106 hp.

There were also two models with a volume of 1.8 liters (1774 cm³): "VAZ-21128-26", injector, Euro 4, with a power of 123 hp.; "VAZ-21128-27", injector, Euro 4, 130 hp.

Initially, only a five-speed manual gearbox was installed, but since 2014, a five-speed robotic transmission of our own design has been installed using an electronic control unit from ZF.

The car was produced in two trim levels - "Norma" and "Lux". The "Norma" trim level includes a driver's airbag, an on-board computer, a central lock with remote control, an adjustable steering wheel, an electric power steering, front electric windows, and electric outside mirrors. The Lux trim level adds to the list the front passenger's airbag, rear electric windows, seat belt tensioners on the front seats, and an indicator of unbuckled seat belts.

In 2011, there were minor changes - the front bumper, rear-view mirrors and steering wheel were changed. In September 2013, a more profound restyling was carried out. The exterior has been updated: a new radiator grille, rear bumper, rear LED lights have been installed, the headlights have been equipped with daytime running lights, noise insulation has been improved, and an electronic stability control system (ESC) has been added. Inside, the dashboard has been completely redesigned, and the quality of the finishing materials has improved. All these changes have increased comfort and safety, and improved driving performance.

In 2015, due to the crisis in Russia and the start of production "Lada Vesta" priora sales dropped by almost half, and in 2018 Vesta completely replaced it.
