First generation (2015-present)
The first generation was presented in August 2014 during the Moscow International Automobile Salon, production began in September 2015 in Izhevsk, and sales began in November. The body is currently presented as a four-door sedan and a five-door station wagon. The length of the car was 4410 mm, width 1764 mm, height 1497-1512 mm, wheelbase 2635 mm and curb weight of 1230-1270 kg. There were plans to release a hatchback, but they were abandoned due to possible competition with "Lada XRAY".
There are three main trim levels - "Classic", "Comfort" and "Luxe". The standard equipment of the car includes an airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with brake assistance system (BAS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control system (ESP), traction control, hill descent control system, emergency system "ERA-GLONASS", adjustable steering column in two planes, central locking with remote control, trip computer, car alarm. In addition, there is also a windshield heater and a 7-inch display with a navigation system and a rear view camera. For the sedan body, there are also trim levels - a simplified "Standard" and the maximum "Exclusive". Since 2017, there are also sedans and station wagons called "Cross", which are distinguished by increased cross-country ability. In August 2018, "Vesta Sport" was presented based on a sedan with an engine capacity of 145 hp.
Only four-cylinder petrol engines were installed with the following characteristics: 1.6 liters (1596 cm³, VAZ-21129, 16 valves, Euro 5, 106 hp) and 1.8 liters (1774 cm³, VAZ-21179, 16 valves, Euro 5, 122 hp). A five-speed manual gearbox (Russian VAZ-21807 or French JH3-514) was installed, as well as a five-speed robotic (Russian VAZ-2182).
At first, the minimum price for Vesta was 514 thousand rubles, at the end of 2016 it was increased to 529 thousand rubles, at the end of 2017 the minimum price is 555 thousand rubles.
The car's safety was determined in a crash test conducted by the Autoreview publication using the ARCAP methodology and was awarded 14.1 points out of 16 possible. In 2018, safety was tested again using the same methodology and was awarded 15.1 points out of 16 possible.
