Unscrew nut 1, Figure 9-1, securing the brake drum to axle 3 of the rear wheel hub and remove drum 2 (replacement head 36, extension and ratchet, puller 67.78239519).
Checking the technical condition
Note: Brake drums must be the same diameter. When boring one of the drums, it is necessary to bore the second drum.
Caution: When replacing the brake drum on one side, be sure to replace the brake drum on the opposite side.
Caution: When replacing brake drums, be sure to replace the brake shoes.
The brake drum parameters are given in Table 9-1.
Table 9-1
Parameter | |
Nominal inner diameter of the brake drum, mm | 203,4 |
Maximum permissible internal diameter of the brake drum, mm | 204,5 |
Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum in two mutually perpendicular directions. Compare the measurement results with the data given in Table 9-1. Replace the brake drum if necessary (calipers).
If there are deep scratches or waviness on the working surface of the brake drum, bore the drum. Take measurements again. Compare the measurement results with the data given in Table 9-1. Replace the brake drum if necessary.
Installation
Clean the rear brake components (metal brush).
When replacing the brake drum, check the outer diameter of the brake shoes and, if necessary, adjust them in accordance with the requirements of paragraph. 10 real TI.
Install the brake drum on the rear wheel hub axle and secure it with a nut. Nut tightening torque 158...192 Nm (15.8...19.2 kgf·m) (replaceable head 36, extension and ratchet, torque wrench).
Check the operation and, if necessary, adjust the parking brake drive in accordance with the requirements of paragraph. 17 of this TI.
Install the rear wheel in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20594.
Press the brake pedal 2-3 times, check and, if necessary, top up the brake fluid level in the brake hydraulic reservoir.
Check the efficiency of the service brake system in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.13062.
Present the vehicle to the Quality Control Department. The Quality Control Department will check the vehicle for compliance with the requirements of TU 017200-254-00232934, paragraphs 1.19.9, 1.19.22 in the scope of work performed.
