Attention! Brake pipes must not have any kinks, dents or other damage that could lead to depressurization of the brake system; brake pipes with the above defects must be replaced.
Attention! It is not allowed for the brake pipes to touch other parts except for the mounting points and the noise-insulating upholstery of the front shield.
Removal
Place the vehicle on a workbench or two-post lift (depending on the location of the brake pipes being replaced on the vehicle), apply the parking brake and turn off the ignition (electro-hydraulic lift type P-3.2G with a lifting capacity of 3.2 t).
Raise the vehicle to a height convenient for performing work.
Before replacing the brake pipe to the front brake hose, remove the front wheel in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20594.
Before replacing the brake pipes, the attachment points to the body of which are located above the gas tank, remove the gas tank in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20592.
Disconnect the brake pipe from the brake system components (master brake cylinder, ABS hydraulic unit, rear brake wheel cylinder, brake pipe, flexible brake hose). At the connection points with flexible brake hoses, remove the mounting bracket from the brake pipe fitting. When removing the pipes, install technological plugs in the openings of the brake system (14 mm spanner, brake pipe wrench type 41 08 11 13 from "Stahlwille", technological plugs).
Remove the brake pipe by releasing it from the brackets that secure it to the car body (flat head screwdriver).
For the rear wheel cylinder brake pipes: release the pipes from the mounting brackets to the beam and rear suspension arms (flat head screwdriver).
To remove the pipes laid under the bottom of the body, first remove the pipeline screen (flat head screwdriver).
Installation
Caution! When connecting brake pipes to flexible hoses, twisting of the brake hoses is not allowed.
Install the brake system pipes in the reverse order of removal (14 mm spanner, brake pipe wrench type 41 08 11 13 from "Stahlwille", replaceable inserts 13, 14, torque wrench type 50 18 00 04 of the company "Stahlwille").
Tightening torque of brake pipe fittings 14...20 Nm (1.4...2.0 kgf·m).
If it was removed, then:
- install pipeline screen;
- install the gas tank in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20592;
- install the front wheel in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20594.
