The front hub has a double-row ball bearing, which does not require adjustment and lubrication during operation. When the hub is pressed out, the bearing is destroyed, so press the front hub out of the steering knuckle only to replace the bearing.
1. Remove the protective cap.
2. Loosen the front hub nut. Loosen the wheel bolts and hub nut with the vehicle on the ground. The hub nut is tightened with a large torque, so it is recommended to use, for example, a piece of pipe as a lever.
3. Remove the wheel and brake disc (see «Removal and installation of a brake disk of a forward wheel»).
4. Loosen the nuts of the bolts securing the steering knuckle to the rack (see «Removal and installation of a telescopic rack»).
5. Turn away two bolts of fastening of a spherical support to a rotary fist.
6. Finally turn off two nuts of fastening of a rotary fist of a telescopic rack and take out bolts.
7. Completely unscrew the front hub bearing nut and remove the thrust washer.
8. Remove the steering knuckle from the telescopic strut bracket.
9. Using a suitable punch, press the front hub out of the inner race of the bearing.
10. If the outer part of the inner ring of the bearing remains on the hub, press it with a puller. For ease of dismantling, there are two special recesses on the hub.
11. Remove lock rings from both parties of a rotary fist.
12. Using a mandrel, press the bearing out of the steering knuckle.
13. Install the outer circlip.
14. Press the new bearing into the knuckle in a vice or press using an appropriate mandrel, applying force only to the outer ring of the bearing. Do not hammer the bearing: it may collapse.
15. Install the inner circlip.
16. Use a mandrel to press the front hub into the inner ring of the bearing.
17. Establish on the car a rotary fist in an order, the return to removal. In this case, use a new front hub nut or a nut from another wheel (to old jammed parts A the collar of the nut during punching did not fall into the groove b on the shank of the outer CV joint).
18. Finally tighten the front hub nut in the same way as the wheel bolts with the vehicle on the ground and lock it in two places. Install the protective cap.
