1. Remove the telescopic pole from the vehicle (see «Removal and installation of a telescopic rack»).
2. Clamp the telescopic pole in a vise, compress the spring with special couplers to compress the springs...
3.... and unscrew the shock absorber rod nut using the tool, holding the shock absorber rod from turning.
4. Remove the limit washer of the travel of the top support of the telescopic strut.
5. Remove the telescopic pole top support.
6. Remove the bearing of the upper support of the telescopic rack...
7.... limiter of the compression stroke of the upper support of the telescopic strut...
8....upper spring cup...
9.... the upper insulating gasket of the spring...
10.... and remove the spring from the shock absorber.
11. Remove the compression stroke buffer and protective cover from the shock absorber rod.
12. Inspect the parts of the telescopic pole.
13. Replace damaged compression stroke buffer and damaged guard.
14. Replace the bearing if it moves axially in the bearing housing or if it seizes when turning.
15. Replace the top support if its rubber shows signs of aging.
16. Replace the spring if cracks are found on it or coils are deformed. To upset the spring, squeeze it three times until the coils touch. Then apply a load of 3356 N to the spring (342 kgf). Compress the spring along its axis, the supporting surfaces must correspond to the surfaces of the supporting cups on the telescopic pole. If the length of the spring with brown markings (class A) less than 230 mm, replace it with a blue marking (class B).
17. Collect a telescopic rack and establish on the car in an order, the return to dismantling. Slide the protective cover over the annular groove of the compression stroke buffer. Install the spring so that its ends rest against the protrusions of the lower and upper cups.
18. Finally tighten the shock absorber rod nut with the vehicle on the surface.
