Find out if there are any cracks or traces of contact with road obstacles or the body on the front suspension parts, deformations of the levers, stretchers, stabilizer bar and its struts, parts of the front of the body in the places where the front suspension units and parts are attached. Deformation of the front suspension parts, and especially the struts and parts of the front of the body, disrupts the wheel alignment angles and makes it impossible to adjust the wheel alignment.
Check the condition of the silent blocks (rubber-metal hinges), rubber cushions, ball joints of the front suspension, as well as the condition (settlement) of the upper supports of the telescopic struts of the front suspension. Silent blocks (rubber-metal hinges) and rubber cushions are subject to replacement in case of ruptures and one-sided bulging of the rubber, as well as in case of cutting of their end surfaces.
To check the condition of the front suspension ball joint, remove the wheel from the vehicle and measure the distance H (see figure 6.1) between the lower arm 17 and the brake disc 21. If, when rocking the front suspension, this distance changes by more than 0.8 mm, replace the ball joint.
