The windshield wiper consists of a gear motor with rods and two levers with brushes. The supply voltage is supplied to the electric motor of the motor-reducer through an additional relay when the ignition is switched on. To protect the motor-reducer against overloads, a bimetallic fuse is built into its internal circuit.
To supply washer fluid to the windshield, two washer nozzles are installed on the hood. The liquid is supplied to them by an electric pump through an elastic tube from the windshield washer reservoir, mounted on the right mudguard in the engine compartment. The pump is mounted on the wall of the tank.
The rear window wiper is mounted on the tailgate and consists of a gear motor and a lever with a brush. A nozzle is installed on the top of the tailgate to supply washer fluid to the rear window. Liquid is supplied to the nozzle through an elastic tube by a second electric pump installed in the windshield washer reservoir.
Recommendation. In winter, it is necessary to fill in a special anti-freeze fluid in the windshield washer reservoir.
* Some cars are equipped with a cleaner and headlight washer. The rear window wiper is installed on hatchback and station wagon vehicles.
