Cars have two brushes. The brushes have different lengths and, accordingly, different catalog numbers:
- left wiper arm brush - 600 mm;
- brush of the right wiper arm - 445 mm.
If cleaning requires more strokes of the brushes and a larger amount of washer fluid or the glass is cleaned unevenly, the wiper blades must be washed with water, wiped with a damp cloth, or replaced. As a preventive measure, we recommend replacing brushes at least once a year.
Comment. Different manufacturers and models of brushes may have different mounting designs. In order for the brushes to be put on the wiper arms of different cars, they are equipped with adapters.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Raise the windshield wiper arm.
Warning! When the wiper arms are raised, the hood must not be raised - it may collide with the arms! In this case, both the levers and the paintwork of the hood will be damaged!
3. Press the latch...
... disengage the brush from the lever...
...and take it off.
Warning! Be careful after removing the brush! If the wiper arm spontaneously lowers and strikes the glass, the glass may crack.
4. Install a new brush in reverse order. After installation, make sure that the brush is securely fixed on the lever.
5. Similarly, we replace the second windshield brush.
