To change the coolant on a car, you will need: a ring wrench «at 13», screwdriver, coolant (antifreeze, antifreeze..), clean rag.
Attention! Change the coolant only when the engine is cold. The coolant is toxic, so be careful when handling it.
1. Install the car on a flat horizontal platform. If the site is sloping, park the vehicle so that the front of the vehicle is higher than the rear.
2. Remove the engine mudguard from the car (see «Removal and installation of a mudguard of the engine»).
Note. It is not necessary to remove the engine mudguard, but in this case, measures will have to be taken to prevent the coolant from spreading over the area under the car: getting on the mudguard from the drain holes, the coolant will spray heavily.
3. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
4. In order to gain access to the drain plug on the cylinder block, remove the ignition coil together with the bracket (see «Removal and installation of the ignition coil»).
5. Remove the expansion tank cap.
6. Place a container under the engine and unscrew the drain plug on the cylinder block. After draining the coolant, wipe off any traces of coolant from the cylinder block.
7. Place a container under the radiator, unscrew the drain plug on the radiator and wait until the coolant has completely drained from the cooling system.
8. Wrap plugs in the block of cylinders and a radiator.
9. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the coolant drain hose from the throttle assembly heating fitting. This is necessary so that as the engine cooling system fills up, air comes out of it. If this is not done, then due to the formation of air locks, the coolant will not completely fill the system.
10. Fill the engine cooling system by pouring coolant into the expansion tank until it starts to flow out of the hose disconnected from the throttle assembly. At this point, install the hose in place and tighten the hose clamp. Continue pouring fluid until its level is 25-30 mm below the mark «MAX» on the wall of the expansion tank. Wrap a stopper of a broad tank.
Attention! Screw the cap on the expansion tank tightly. When the engine is running, the expansion tank is under pressure, so coolant may leak from under a loosely wrapped plug.
11. Reinstall the ignition coil.
12. Connect the wire to the terminal «minus» battery.
13. Start the engine and let it warm up to operating temperature (before turning on the cooling fan). After that, turn off the engine, check the coolant level and, if necessary, add liquid to the mark «MAX» on the wall of the expansion tank.
