5.45 liters are poured into the cooling system. (air conditioned) and 4.5 liters. (without air conditioning) coolant (antifreeze) "GLACEOL RX (type D) "; "CoolStream NRC" (meets Renault specifications, filled in at AVTOVAZ), or analogues.
Note. Do not mix coolants from different manufacturers and colors. If you do not know what fluid was filled before, replace the fluid completely.
Warning: Replace only when the engine is cold.
Location of the coolant reservoir
On a car with a K4M engine
On cars with engine 11189, 21129
Coolant drain
Note. The radiator and cylinder block do not have a valve (cork) to drain coolant.
Put the car on a two-post lift, apply the parking brake, turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire terminal "masses" from the battery.
Unscrew plug 1, Figure 13-2, of the expansion tank.

Remove engine crankcase protection (see here).
Install a technological container for collecting coolant (with a volume of at least 6 liters.).
Remove clamp 1, Figure 13-3, of the outlet hose of the radiator of the cooling system.
(pliers, or elastic band remover Mot. 1202 or Mot. 1448).
Figure 13-3 - Disconnecting the engine cooling radiator outlet hose: 1 - clamp; 2 - outlet hose; 3 - radiator of the engine cooling system
And disconnect the radiator outlet hose.
Drain all the liquid into the container below.
Note. If special equipment is available, it is possible to force a jet of compressed air through the opening of the expansion tank to remove the coolant using an air gun.
Note. the intensity of the drain can also be increased by unscrewing the cap of the air outlet from the cooling system, which is located on the fluid supply hose to the heater.
Flushing the cooling system
Fill the cooling system with water through the expansion tank.
Pour water through the cooling system until the water flowing from the cooling system radiator outlet hose runs clear.
Filling the cooling system
Install outlet hose 2, Figure 13-3, onto the radiator connection of the engine cooling system.
Install the clamp 1 of the outlet hose of the radiator of the cooling system (pliers, or elastic band remover Mot. 1202 or Mot. 1448).
Unscrew the plug of the fitting 3, Figure 13-2, of the engine cooling system to remove air.
Fill the engine cooling system with coolant by pouring it into the expansion tank (coolant in accordance with the current "Codifier of the main and auxiliary materials used in the maintenance and repair of LADA vehicles" K 3100.25100.00018).
Screw on the bleeder plug as soon as coolant begins to flow out in a continuous stream.
Wipe up spilled liquid, remove drips.
Install cap 1 of expansion tank.
Attach wire terminal "masses" to the battery.
Start the engine.
Run the engine at 2500 rpm until the electric cooling fan comes on a third time.
Note. When the engine is running, watch the coolant temperature using the gauge in the instrument cluster. If the indicator scale is completely shaded and the radiator fan does not turn on, turn on the heater and check how much air passes through it. If the heater supplies heated air, the fan is most likely defective, and if it supplies cold air, then an air lock has formed in the engine cooling system. To remove it, turn off the engine, let it cool and unscrew the plug of the expansion tank. Start the engine, let it run for 3-5 minutes and close the reservoir cap.
Check the functionality of the heater.
After stopping the engine, check for signs of coolant leakage.
Bring the coolant level up to the mark "Maxi" on the expansion tank.
Install the expansion tank cap.
Install the engine crankcase protection.
