1. Remove the front wheel drive from the vehicle (see "Removal and installation front wheel drives").
2. Clamp the front wheel drive shaft in a vice with soft metal jaw pads to avoid damaging the shaft.
3. Use pliers to squeeze the bent tabs of the inner clamp of the inner joint boot, remove the clamp lock and remove the clamp.
4. Remove the outer cover clamp in the same way.
5. Slide the mudguard over the front wheel drive shaft and turn it inside out.
6. Using a drift, knock the inner joint off the front wheel drive shaft by applying force to the constant velocity joint cage.
7. Please note: There is a plastic buffer installed on the inner end of the front wheel drive shaft.
8. Check the new inner constant velocity joint for grease. It should contain 80 cm³ of SHRUS-4 grease. If you think there is not enough grease in the joint, add some - extra grease will not hurt.
9. When installing the constant velocity joint, place it on the front wheel drive shaft using light hammer blows through a wooden spacer on the outer end of the tailpiece along its axis until the joint is secured on the shaft. When installing the constant velocity joint, be careful not to allow dirt to enter it.
10. Install the mudguard onto the constant velocity joint housing.
11. Install the outer and inner clamps of the hinge boot in the reverse order of removal.
12. If it is necessary to replace the boot, remove the joint from the drive shaft, remove the air release valve from the boot together with the casing, sliding the valve along the front wheel drive shaft. Remove the boot from the front wheel drive shaft.
13. To replace the valve, unscrew its casing and, after removing the valve from the casing...
14. ...remove the valve from the shaft.
15. Then remove the valve cover from the front wheel drive shaft.
16. Install the valve and new front wheel drive boot in the reverse order of removal.
17. After installing the constant velocity joint, secure the cover with clamps.
18. To replace the outer constant velocity joint, remove its outer and inner clamps in the same way as you did for the inner joint.
19. Slide the mudguard over the front wheel drive shaft and turn it inside out.
20. Using a drift, knock the outer constant velocity joint off the front wheel drive shaft by applying force to the joint collar.
21. Install the outer constant velocity joint in the same way as the inner joint. The difference is that 40 cm³ of CV joint-4 grease must be placed in the outer constant velocity joint.
