1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
2. Remove the steering column cover (see «Removal and installation of facing casings of a steering column»).
3. Disconnect the connector with the ignition switch wires from the instrument panel wiring harness.
4. Disconnect the connector with the ignition switch wires from the immobilizer control wiring harness.
5. Use a chisel and hammer to remove or drill out the four self-tapping head bolts and remove the ignition switch from the steering column.
6. Bend the lock of the ignition switch wiring harness connector and remove the wire terminals from the connector.
7. Bend the latches...
8.... and remove the plastic cover from the ignition lock housing.
9. Bend back two plastic latches.
10.... and remove the contact group from the ignition lock cover.
11. Examine contacts of the lock of ignition. Clean oxidized or burnt contacts with fine-grained sandpaper. If the contacts are severely damaged, replace the contact group or the ignition switch assembly.
12. Assemble the ignition switch in the reverse order of removal, while paying attention to the location of the terminals with wires in the wiring harness connector.
13. Install the ignition lock on the car in the reverse order of removal, having previously sunk the locking rod of the anti-theft device. To do this, insert the key into the ignition lock and turn it from the position «0».
