Sequence of execution
1. Loosen the tension of the generator drive belt (see above, "Generator Drive Belt - Checking Condition and Adjusting Tension").
2. Remove the belt from the generator pulley and from the crankshaft pulley.

3. Rotate the tension roller to check its condition.
Recommendation. When replacing the alternator drive belt, the condition of the tension roller should be checked. It should rotate easily, without sticking or making noise. The faulty roller should be replaced. If necessary, the roller can be replaced without removing the tensioner from the engine (see below).
4. If it is necessary to disassemble the tensioning mechanism, use a 13 mm open-end wrench to unscrew the two bolts securing the adjusting pin and remove it together with the upper bracket and threaded tip.

5. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the bolt of the lower tensioner mount and remove it together with the tension roller.

6. Using a screwdriver, remove the protective cover from the roller. Using a 17 mm socket wrench, unscrew the roller mounting bolt (shown by arrow).

7. We disassemble the parts of the tensioning mechanism, treat the areas damaged by corrosion with penetrating lubricant with a rust converter. Lubricate the threaded part of the adjusting stud with any plastic lubricant. We replace faulty parts.

Installation
1. Install the roller, assemble and install the tensioning mechanism in the reverse order.
2. First, put the belt on the crankshaft pulley and then on the generator pulley.
3. Adjust the belt tension (see "Generator Drive Belt - Checking Condition and Adjusting Tension").
