To perform the work you will need a special 13 mm wrench for brake pipe fittings.

Removal



1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the battery (see "Battery - Removal and Installation").

3. Remove the air supply hose to the throttle valve (see "Throttle valve - drive adjustment").

4. Using a rubber bulb or syringe, remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir (see above, "Hydraulic brake drive - brake fluid replacement").

5. Using a special 13 mm wrench, loosen the tightening of the fittings of the four brake pipes of the master brake cylinder. Using a 13 mm open-end wrench, completely unscrew the fittings of the four tubes.

6. Carefully, without bending the tubes too much, move them away from the main brake cylinder.

7. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the master brake cylinder to the vacuum booster housing.

8. Remove the master brake cylinder assembly with the reservoir from the vacuum booster.



9. If necessary, release the two clamps and remove the tank pipes from the rubber sealing bushings.

Installation



1. Assemble and install the master brake cylinder in the reverse order.

Before installing the reservoir on the new brake cylinder, wet the reservoir pipes with clean brake fluid.

We tighten the brake pipe fittings with a special key.

2. Fill the reservoir with fresh brake fluid and bleed the hydraulic drive of the brake system (see "Hydraulic brake drive - bleeding")

3. Check for fluid leaks at the points where the brake pipes are connected to the master brake cylinder.
