1. From underneath the Lada Kalina, loosen and unscrew the nut of the clamp bolt on the gearbox control rod by 3-5 turns.

2. Use a screwdriver to slightly widen the groove of the clamp and the groove at the end of the gearbox control rod to ensure free movement of the rod relative to the gear selection rod, and set the rod to the neutral position.

3. In the Lada Kalina car interior, to visually check the position of the gear shift lever, remove the cover from the flange of the floor tunnel opening and lift the cover up along the gear shift lever.

4. Install the gearbox control rod on the hinge tail so that the distance between the end of the rod and the end of the hinge fork is 11-13 mm. In this case, the lower (straight) the end of the gear shift lever will be approximately vertical.

5. Without moving the gear shift lever longitudinally, position it transversely so that the gear shift lever handle is located at a distance from the right seat approximately equal to half the distance between the seats.
6. Without changing the position of the gear shift lever (an assistant should fix it) and the joint tail, tighten the nut of the transmission control rod clamp clamp tie bolt.

Note: Before tightening the transmission control rod clamp pinch bolt, make sure that the clamp is positioned approximately 10 mm from the end of the rod and that its slot is aligned with the slot in the rod.
7. Check that the adjustment is correct. All gears should engage easily, without sticking. If necessary, repeat the adjustment of the gearbox control drive by slightly changing the initial position of the gearshift lever in the transverse direction with the gearbox control rod clamp loosened.
8. Reinstall the gear shift lever cover in the passenger compartment.
