We check the performance of the pressure regulator in accordance with the maintenance regulations every 30 thousand km.

We carry out the work with an assistant, having installed the car on an overpass or inspection ditch.

We inspect the pressure regulator and its drive parts. They must not have any damage. Leakage of brake fluid from the regulator and its brake pipes is not allowed.

Remove the protective cover of the pressure regulator.

When pressing the brake pedal with a force of 70-80 kgf...

...we observe the movement of the protruding part of the regulator piston relative to its body.

If the piston moves 0.5-0.9 mm, twisting the torsion lever, the pressure regulator is working. If the piston remains stationary when the brake pedal is pressed, the pressure regulator is faulty and should be replaced.

Adjustment of the rear brake pressure regulator drive is necessary when its mounting bolts are loosened, as well as after any work related to removing the rear axle beam, replacing the springs and shock absorbers of the rear suspension. To adjust, we hang up the rear axle of the car.

Using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the nut on the bolt securing the end of the elastic regulator lever to the rear axle bracket rod, holding the bolt from turning with a spanner of the same size.

We remove the tip of the lever from the eye of the rod.

Using a 13 mm wrench, loosen the bolts securing the regulator to the bracket.

We rest the end of the ruler on the floor of the car body.

While raising and lowering the end of the lever, hold it at a distance of 150 mm from the floor with the help of an assistant or with the help of a wooden spacer of a suitable size, inserting it between the rear axle beam and the lever.

By moving the adjuster on the bolts relative to the bracket slot...

...we achieve light contact between the protruding part of the piston and the end of the lever. Holding the regulator in this position, tighten the bolts that secure it.

When the regulator is correctly adjusted, when braking on a horizontal section of road with a hard surface, the front wheels should lock slightly before the rear ones.
