1. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Removal and installation the decorative engine cover").
2. Reduce the pressure in the engine fuel system (see "Reduced fuel pressure in the engine fuel system").
3. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Remove the intake module together with the throttle assembly (see "Removal and installation the intake module").
5. Disconnect the injector wire harness connector and the engine harness and disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail pipe (see "Removal and installation the fuel rail").
6. Disconnect the exhaust pipe of the additional muffler from the catalytic converter by unscrewing the nuts securing the exhaust pipe flange to the catalytic converter flange, disconnect the rubber suspension mounts from the muffler brackets and remove the exhaust pipe flange from the catalytic converter flange studs (see "Replacing the additional muffler").

7. Disconnect the control wiring harness connectors from the engine harness...

8. ...and oxygen concentration control sensors.

9. Disconnect the oxygen concentration sensor control wiring harness holder from the steering gear heat shield...

10. ...and the diagnostic oxygen sensor, by pressing the holders' antennae with a screwdriver.

11. Unscrew the two nuts securing the catalytic converter support bracket clamp, remove the spring washers installed underneath them and remove the clamp.

12. Remove the two bolts securing the support bracket to the cylinder block and remove the bracket.

13. Unscrew the lower mounting nut of the rear strut of the intake pipe...

14. ...and unscrew the bolt of the lower fastening of the front strut of the intake pipe.

15. Unscrew the nut securing the upper fastening of the front strut to the intake pipe...

16. ... remove the wire tip from the stud...

17. ...front strut and rubber damper bushing.

18. Unscrew the nut securing the upper rear strut to the intake pipe...

19. ...and remove the spacer.

20. Unscrew the nut securing the cooling system connecting pipe bracket to the intake pipe, remove the spring washer installed under the nut and remove the bracket from the stud.

21. Unscrew the two rear nuts securing the intake pipe and catalytic converter to the engine cylinder head, remove the heat-insulating shield and flat washers.

22. At the front of the engine, unscrew the two nuts that simultaneously secure the heat-insulating shield and the transport eye and remove the shield and eye.

23. Unscrew the two front nuts securing the intake pipe and catalytic converter to the cylinder head and remove the flat washers installed underneath them.

24. Unscrew the two middle upper nuts a intake pipe fasteners and one nut b catalytic converter mounts...

25. ...two middle lower nuts securing the intake pipe (they are not visible in the photo, as they are located deep under the intake pipe), remove the flat washers installed under the nuts...

26. ...and remove the intake pipe from the cylinder head studs.
27. Slide the catalytic converter flange along the cylinder head studs and remove the catalytic converter.
28. Remove the sealing gasket from the cylinder head studs.
29. Clean the cylinder head and intake manifold flanges from any remaining old gasket and carbon deposits.

30. Remove both oxygen concentration sensors from the catalytic converter and install them on the new catalytic converter.
31. Install the catalytic converter and all removed parts and assemblies on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
