Replacing rubber cushions of the exhaust system suspension (Kalina 1118)

On a car, the rubber suspension mounts of the exhaust system are replaced if, due to their damage or excessive deformation, the system elements begin to knock when in contact with the body or other units of the car.



The additional muffler and the front part of the main muffler are suspended on three identical rubber pads...



...and the rear part of the main muffler is on one rubber cushion of an original shape.



1. To replace the rear suspension cushion of the main muffler, bend back the two bracket tabs on the body.



2. Lift the muffler and remove its bracket from the rear cushion.

3. Remove the cushion from the bracket on the body.

4. Install the new rubber cushion in the reverse order of removal. To facilitate installation of the rear rubber cushion, lubricate the muffler bracket with a soap solution.



5. To replace the front rubber cushion of the main muffler suspension, lift the muffler and remove the cushion from the bracket on the body...



6. ...and then from the bracket on the muffler. Install the new rubber cushion in the reverse order of removal.

Install all removed parts on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
