- place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake and engage first gear; in the variant for vehicles with automatic transmission, move the gearshift lever to position P (parking);
- get the spare tire and tool;
- remove the wheel cap (in a variant design);
- loosen one turn with combination wrench 2 (figure 53a) bolts for fastening the wheel being replaced;
- install jack 1 so that the recess in the jack stop fits into the edge of the threshold closer to the wheel being replaced, and the heel of the jack is located exactly under the stop. To make it easier to find the correct place to install the jack, special stampings are made on the thresholds of the car. By rotating the jack handle (position I) raise the wheel above the supporting surface to a height of 50-60 mm. If the distance to the supporting surface does not allow the handle to turn a full turn, rotate the handle along a small radius (position II);
- unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel. Install the spare tire, tighten the mounting bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern;
- lower the car and remove the jack. Tighten the bolts and check the tire pressure.
In the variant version the car is equipped with a jack, shown in the figure 53b and to replace the wheel you will need to do the following:
- place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake and engage first gear; in the variant for vehicles with automatic transmission, move the gearshift lever to position P (parking);
- get the spare tire and tool;
- remove the wheel cap (in a variant design);
- loosen the 2 bolts of the wheel being replaced by one turn using a special key;
- install jack 1 on the platform so that the upper support 5 of the jack is located exactly under the vehicle support (near a special stamping closer to the wheel being replaced), by first rotating the ratchet mechanism drive 3 clockwise, raising the upper support 5 to a height close to the required one. The lift is performed with the upper support 5 secured against rotation. If it is necessary to achieve the maximum lifting height or to facilitate adjustment to the required pick-up height, first the internal screw 6 with the upper support 5 should be unscrewed to a height of 30 mm;
- raise the jack until the upper support 5 is fixed with the vehicle support, inserting the handle of the special key 2 into the ratchet mechanism drive tube, using rocking movements of the key in a horizontal plane with a clockwise force, ensure that the vehicle is raised until the wheel being replaced is "torn away" from the supporting surface;

Attention! The maximum lifting height is approximately 390 mm and is limited from unscrewing the screws by technological stops, therefore when lifting the car to a height close to the specified height with increasing force, further rotation should be stopped to avoid damage to the jack.
- unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel. Install the spare tire, tighten the mounting bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern;
- move pawl 4 of the ratchet mechanism to the stop counterclockwise and, using swinging movements of key 2 in a horizontal plane counterclockwise, lower the car and release the jack. Tighten the bolts and check the tire pressure.
After completing the work, place the replaced wheel in the luggage compartment niche and secure it with screw 1 (figure 54) and cover the niche with a rug.
After the first 1000 km of vehicle mileage, it is necessary to check the tightening force of the wheel bolts and tighten them if necessary. Perform a similar operation each time you install new wheels on your vehicle.
In a variant version, a stamped-welded spare wheel is used on vehicles with cast wheel rims.
On vehicles equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels, a temporary-use spare wheel is used. It is prohibited to install more than one such spare wheel on a vehicle. When using this spare tire, the vehicle speed must not exceed the value indicated on the label (warning sign of maximum vehicle speed limit) wheels. Installing a temporary spare tire may affect the performance of your vehicle. It is necessary to exercise caution when driving a vehicle. Do not accelerate or slow down too abruptly. Reduce speed when turning. Replace the temporary spare tire with a tire of the same type and size as the original tire as soon as possible.
