Designations on the identification (factory) plate:
- AVTOVAZ- name of the manufacturer JSC "AVTOVAZ".
- VERSION - modification.
- ENGINE - ENGINE - car engine.
- № FOR SPARES - PARTS NO.
a - progressive number of the car leaving the assembly line.
The number for spare parts corresponds to the serial number of the vehicle leaving the assembly line. When ordering spare parts, please refer to the information contained on the identification (factory) plate.
b - total permissible weight of the vehicle.
v - vehicle identification number and chassis number.
The identification number is deciphered as follows: the first three letters, according to international standards, indicate the manufacturer's code; the next six digits are the car model; latin letter (or number) - model year of the car; the last seven digits are the chassis number, which for a passenger car corresponds to the body number. In accordance with the Technical Regulations "On the safety of wheeled vehicles", the model year is defined as a conventional year specified by the manufacturer (usually following the actual year of manufacture of the vehicle). At AVTOVAZ OJSC, the start of the model year is set for October 1 of the calendar year. Thus, from January 1 to September 30, the model year corresponds to the actual year of production of the car, and from October 1 to December 31, it corresponds to the year following the actual year of production of the car.
The identification number is duplicated on the right support of the front suspension telescopic strut.
g - vehicle type approval number.
It is provided in full in the vehicle registration document.
d - engine model.
The engine model and number are also stamped on the end of the cylinder block, above the clutch housing.
e - permissible weight of a vehicle with a trailer.
and - maximum permissible load on the front axle of the vehicle.
s - maximum permissible load on the rear axle of the vehicle.
and - two-digit index of the variant design.
to - three-digit assembly code.
In the variant version, a plastic identification (factory) plate is added. The letter designations on the drawing of the plastic plate should be read as follows:
- a - vehicle designation;
- b - engine designation;
- in - number for spare parts;
- g - market circulation sign;
- d - manufacturer's name;
- e - vehicle type approval number;
- f - identification number;
- z - technically permissible maximum weight of the vehicle;
- and - technically permissible maximum mass of the road train;
- k - technically permissible maximum axle weight on the front axle;
- l - technically permissible maximum axle weight on the rear axle.
