
In the engine compartment, the vehicle numbers are located in the following places: 1 – body identification number; 2 – identification plate; 3 – engine model and number.
The vehicle identification number (VIN), engine model, manufacturer, year of manufacture and certification information are located on the identification plate (figure 1.5).

…and duplicated in the trunk of the car in the spare wheel niche.
Decoding the identification number, for example, XTA21703070005783:
- XTA — manufacturer index;
- 217030 - car model;
- 7 - model year code of the vehicle (table 1.2);
- 0005783 - body number.

Note: Model year is a period equal to an average calendar year during which vehicles with identical design features are produced.

The engine model and number are stamped on the end of the cylinder block (above the clutch housing). You can read the number using a mirror.
