Your safety and the protection of the environment depend on the technical condition of your vehicle and compliance with the rules of its operation. The following recommendations will significantly increase your safety on the roads and help keep your vehicle in good condition.

Precautions when operating a vehicle



Do not exceed the vehicle load capacity specified in this manual. Overloading leads to damage to suspension components, premature wear of tires and loss of vehicle stability.

Avoid driving fast on roads with poor surfaces, as sudden impacts can deform parts of the powertrain, body and suspension.

In case of strong impacts (for example, when hitting a curb), to avoid creating a sudden emergency situation, contact dealers to check the condition of the vehicle. Regularly check the condition of the protective rubber boots of the steering rack, ball joints, gear shift rod, front wheel drive joints, as well as the protective caps of the steering rod joints. If the cover or cap is damaged, incorrectly installed or twisted, dust, water and dirt will penetrate into the hinge or mechanism, which will cause increased wear and tear. Therefore, immediately replace a damaged cover or cap with a new one, and correct an incorrectly installed or twisted one.

Attention!
  • To lubricate units and assemblies, use materials recommended by the manufacturer.
  • The use of other materials may result in premature wear or damage to these components and assemblies.
  • To avoid the engine running at an excessively high speed while the vehicle is moving, shift gears in a timely manner. This will reduce engine wear and reduce fuel consumption.


Attention!
  • The vehicle's engine is designed to use gasoline with an octane rating not lower than that specified. Operating a vehicle on gasoline with a lower octane number will lead to its failure!
  • Remember to check your tire pressure regularly, as operating your tires at pressures other than the recommended pressure (see section "Tires and wheels"), leads to their premature wear, increased fuel consumption, and also to deterioration of the vehicle's stability and controllability.


Warning! A pressure difference of just 0.02-0.03 MPa on one axle worsens controllability and may cause skidding during emergency braking!




Attention!
  • While driving, do not keep your foot on the clutch pedal or your hand on the gear shift lever unnecessarily, as this may cause damage and premature wear of the clutch or gearbox components.
  • Immediately after the maintenance procedure, check the reliability of the connection of the terminals and clamps of the battery, and the presence of lubrication. Remember that oxidation of terminals and clamps, as well as poor connections, cause sparking at the point of poor contact, which can lead to failure of the vehicle's electronic equipment. It is also not allowed to check the generator's performance with the engine running by removing the clamps from the battery.


Warning!
  • The vehicle is equipped with a high energy ignition system. Therefore, when the engine is running, touching the ignition system elements is dangerous.
  • In addition, it is not recommended to check high voltage circuits "for spark", as this may lead to failure of ignition system components.


To avoid discharging the battery when the engine is not running, do not leave the key in the ignition switch for a long time.

Avoid opening doors abruptly at the end of their travel. Do not leave the doors open when stopped in strong winds to avoid deformation of the front edges of the doors. In winter, when a layer of ice or snow on the sliding windows makes it difficult to move them, do not apply excessive force when turning the handle to avoid damaging the window lift mechanism. To prevent power window failure, be sure to clear the door windows of ice and snow.



Operating a new car



During operation of a new car up to the first 2000 km:
  • start off, accelerate and brake smoothly;
  • after the first thousand kilometers, check the tightening of the wheel mounting bolts and, if necessary, tighten them;
  • when driving, do not exceed the speed of 110 km/h and engine speed of 3500 min~1;
  • shift into higher gears in a timely manner, in accordance with road conditions, avoiding engine overload;
  • do not tow a trailer or another vehicle; Until the end of the first 2000 km run, the relative difference in the braking forces of the rear axle wheels is allowed to be no more than 35%. After the first 2000 km run, the engine speed and vehicle speed can be gradually increased.

Until the end of the running-in period, the relative difference in the braking forces of the rear axle wheels is allowed to be no more than 35%.

Warning! The performance of new tires, brake pads and discs, and clutch is optimized only after they have been run in (grinded in). Therefore, for the first 500 km, use a restrained driving style with moderate acceleration. If the specified components are replaced during further operation, then perform the running-in instructions again.


Preparing the car for movement



Attention! Before leaving the garage or parking place, check the technical condition of the car.


for this:
  • 1. Check and adjust the air pressure in the tires to the correct level (see Table 2 in the section "Tires and wheels"),
  • 2. Check the oil level in the engine crankcase and top it up to normal if necessary.
  • 3. Check the coolant and washer fluid levels and top them up if necessary.
  • 4. Check the brake fluid level.
  • 5. Check the condition of the external lighting fixtures and their cleanliness.
  • 6. Check the operation of the windshield wiper system.
  • 7. Check that mirrors, seats and seat belts are installed correctly.
  • 8. Check the serviceability of the working brake system (the indicator (!) "Brake failure" lights up with a constant red light when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts (self-test mode)) and parking brake system (locking the parking brake lever). The presence of traces of oils and operating fluids under the vehicle indicates that its components and assemblies are not tight. In this case, you need to contact your dealer to identify and eliminate the causes of their appearance.

Attention!
  • Driving a vehicle with a constantly lit "Brake failure" indicator is prohibited. Deliver your vehicle to dealers for repairs using a tow truck.
  • Have any faults detected corrected by your dealer without delay.





Driver's seating behind the wheel



Warning! Safe driving technique depends largely on the correct driver's seating position. Correct seating position - the driver leans fairly firmly on the back of the seat, the legs are not fully extended when the pedals are fully moved, and both arms, slightly bent at the elbows, hold the upper part of the steering wheel. The body position should be stable, but not tense - this prevents rapid fatigue.


Starting the engine



These recommendations ensure starting a serviceable engine with a battery charged to at least 75%, with engine oil of the SAE viscosity grade corresponding to the ambient temperature, on gasoline of the evaporation class for the winter period of the year, depending on the climatic region of use in accordance with GOST R 51866-2002.

For vehicles with manual transmission:



1. Before starting the engine, insert the key into the ignition switch, set the car to the handbrake, depress the clutch pedal all the way, and move the gear shift lever to neutral.

2. Turn on the ignition, pause for a few seconds to allow the electric fuel pump to raise the pressure in the fuel rail to the operating value.

Caution: Do not press the accelerator pedal while starting the engine. Engine starting is optimized to an ambient temperature of minus 27°C without the driver having to control the throttle valve. When the accelerator pedal is fully pressed (all the way down) in engine start mode, the fuel supply is blocked to purge the engine cylinders of excess fuel after unsuccessful starts.




3. Turn on the starter. Keep the clutch pedal pressed all the way until the engine starts and reaches a stable idle speed. After starting the engine, release the ignition key - the starter will turn off.

Note: Do not operate the starter for more than 10 seconds.


4. If the engine does not start within 10 seconds of the starter running, try starting again no earlier than 40 seconds later.

5. If the second start attempt was unsuccessful, start the third one no earlier than 40 seconds later with the accelerator pedal fully depressed (cylinder scavenging mode). After 6-8 seconds of purging, smoothly release the accelerator pedal.

Attention! Failure to follow the above recommendations may result in overloading the starter and its failure! For reliable and long-lasting operation of the starter, strictly follow these recommendations!


6. If the third start attempt fails, then either the ambient temperature is below minus 27 degrees (limits of the possibility of cold starting the engine without auxiliary devices), either the engine is faulty or there is some deviation from the recommendations given above. To solve the problem, you need to contact the dealers.

Warning! Do not use the starter to start the vehicle. This may damage the starter and other vehicle systems! Start driving in first gear with the engine running.


For vehicles with automatic transmission:

1. Before starting the engine, insert the key into the ignition switch, set the drive mode selector to neutral position N and press the brake pedal. In any other selector positions the engine will not start.



2. Turn on the ignition, pause for a few seconds to allow the electric fuel pump to raise the pressure in the fuel rail to the operating value.

Caution: Do not press the accelerator pedal while starting the engine. Engine starting is optimized down to an ambient temperature of minus 27°C without the driver having to operate the throttle. When the accelerator pedal is fully pressed (all the way down) in engine start mode, the fuel supply is blocked to purge the engine cylinders of excess fuel after unsuccessful starts.


3. Turn on the starter. After starting the engine, release the ignition key - the starter will turn off.

Note: Do not operate the starter for more than 10 seconds.


4. If the engine does not start within 10 seconds of the starter running, try starting again no earlier than 40 seconds later.

Warning! Exhaust gases are poisonous! Therefore, the room in which the engine is started and warmed up must be well ventilated.
