Electronic engine control units have a function to protect neutralizers from misfires. When misfires occur in one or two cylinders, the "Engine" indicator lights up in a flashing mode, the fuel supply to the cylinders in which misfires were detected is turned off, after which the "Engine" indicator lights up continuously until the end of the trip. If misfires occur, urgent measures must be taken to eliminate them.
