After starting the engine, moving the selector to the R, A or M positions and moving your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal, and releasing the handbrake (if it was turned on) and by pressing the accelerator pedal the car starts. Gear shifting in mode A is fully automatic.
The driver can use the gear shift lever (figure 47) to terminate the automatic mode at any time and perform manual intervention in the automatic drive program. The driver can maintain the current gear or shift the transmission down or up manually. If upshifting or downshifting would result in excessive engine revs, gear shifting may be blocked.

The computer displays the following information on the instrument panel regarding the operation of the robotic gearbox:
- gear engaged;
- automatic or manual mode (AUTO or MANUAL);
- working condition of the brake pedal.
