After starting the engine, moving the selector to positions R, A or M and moving the foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal, turning off the hand brake (if it was enabled) and actuating the accelerator pedal, the car starts. Gear shifting in A mode is fully automatic.
The driver can use the shift lever (pic. 47) to terminate automatic mode at any time and perform manual intervention in the automatic drive program. The driver can save the actual gear or shift the transmission to a lower or higher gear manually. If upshifting or downshifting causes the engine to rev too high, gear shifting may be blocked.
The computer displays the following information on the instrument panel regarding the functioning of the robotic gearbox:
- included transmission;
- automatic or manual mode (AUTO or MANUAL);
- operating condition of the brake pedal.
