Removing
1. Disconnect the tie rod ends from the levers of the front suspension struts (see «Tie Rod End - Replacement»).
Warning! On vehicles with an airbag in the steering column, secure the steering shaft against rotation to prevent damage to the slip ring.
2. Disconnect the intermediate shaft of the steering column from the steering shaft (see «Steering column - removal and installation»).
3. We turn off four nuts and remove two brackets of the right fastening of the steering mechanism to the partition of the engine compartment (see «Steering Gear Protector - Replacement»).
4. Slightly shift the steering gear forward and remove the drive gear shaft from the hole in the partition of the engine compartment.
5. Having turned the steering mechanism with the shaft up, we remove it from the engine compartment through the opening in the left mudguard.
Installation
Install the steering gear in reverse order. We connect the intermediate shaft of the steering column to the steering shaft (see «Steering column - removal and installation»).
