Removal
1. Disconnect the steering rod ends from the front suspension strut arms (see "Tie Rod End - Replacement").
Warning: To prevent damage to the contact ring on vehicles with a steering column airbag, secure the steering shaft from turning.
2. Disconnect the intermediate shaft of the steering column from the steering gear shaft (see "Steering column - removal and installation").
3. Unscrew the four nuts and remove the two brackets of the right-hand steering gear mount to the engine compartment bulkhead (see "Steering Gear Cover - Replacement").
4. Move the steering gear forward a little and remove the drive pinion shaft from the hole in the engine compartment bulkhead.
5. Turning the steering gear with the shaft upward, we remove it from the engine compartment through the opening in the left mudguard.

Installation
We install the steering mechanism in the reverse order. We connect the intermediate shaft of the steering column to the shaft of the steering gear (see "Steering column - removal and installation").
