The steering column switches are secured in the connector with latches.
The positions of the steering column switch levers are shown in the figure 9.6, the contacts closed in this case are shown in Table. 9.7.

Windshield wiper and washer switch contact numbers
To check and replace the steering column switches on your car, you will need an 8 mm wrench.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the steering column cover (see "Removal and installation steering column trim covers").
3. Remove the steering wheel (see "Removal and installation the steering wheel").
4. Disconnect the connectors with wires from the left and right steering column switch levers.
5. Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the steering column switches together with their base.
6. Press the two retaining clips together and remove the steering column switch from the base.
To check the steering column switches, connect a 12 V test lamp to the appropriate contacts shown in the table. 9.7 (here is a check of the left turn signal activation). Move the steering column switch lever to the position corresponding to the contacts being tested. The lamp should light up. Otherwise, the steering column switch is faulty. Install the steering column switches on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
