To replace the rear suspension beam on a car, you will need: two keys «at 19», a special wrench for unscrewing the nuts of the brake pipes.
1. Remove the rear shock absorbers from both sides of the car (see «Rear shock absorber and spring replacement»).
2. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the equalizer, remove the shells of both cables from the bracket on the body, bend two brackets of each cable to the body and remove both cables from the rear suspension beam mounting brackets for easy access to the beam mounting bolt.
3. Disconnect the earring of the elastic lever of the brake pressure regulator drive from the bracket on the rear suspension beam (see «Removal and installation of the brake pressure regulator»).
4. Disconnect one brake hose on both sides from the tubes on the rear suspension beam. Plug the openings of the brake hoses.
5. Turn away from both sides on one nut of bolts of fastening of a beam of a back suspension bracket to arms, beat out bolts and remove a beam of a back suspension bracket, having rolled out it on wheels from under the car.
Note. The car manufacturer recommends removing the rear suspension beam together with the brackets by unscrewing three nuts of their fastening. However, after prolonged use, rusty studs can break. Therefore, it is better to remove the rear beam by disconnecting it from the brackets that remain on the body.
6. Establish on the car a beam of a back suspension bracket in an order, the return to removal.
Finally tighten the rear suspension beam bolt nuts with the vehicle on the ground. After installing all removed parts, be sure to bleed the brake system and adjust the parking brake.
