To complete the work you will need:
- car stand;
- universal cup puller.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for work («Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. We install the car on a reliable stand and remove the rear left wheel («Wheel - replacement»).
3. Disconnect the elastic lever of the pressure regulator from the earring («Rear brake fluid pressure regulator - removal and installation»).
4. We release the left parking brake cable from the two brackets for attaching the cable to the left rear suspension arm («Parking brake cables - removal and installation»).
5. Using a 19 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nut of the bolt securing the lever to the body bracket, holding the bolt with a 19 mm spanner wrench.
6. Remove the bolt. Pull the lever down (without tightening the brake hose) and install the puller cup on the outside, and a special washer on the inside of the lever.
7. Rotating the puller bolt nut, we press the silent block into the cup.
Comment. The silent block has a stop on one edge, and therefore it should be pressed out only towards the threshold of the car.
Installation
1. Apply a soapy solution to the cylindrical surface of the new silent block.
2. Install the puller cup on the inside of the lever.
3. Rotating the puller bolt nut, we press the new silent block into the lever until it stops.
4. We install the lever in the body bracket and fix it with a bolt and nut, without tightening the ss.
Comment. The lever mounting bolt is inserted into the body bracket from the side of the vehicle sill.
5. We insert the elastic lever of the pressure regulator into the earring and fix it with a stopper («Rear brake fluid pressure regulator - removal and installation»).
6. We fix the handbrake cable in the brackets.
7. Install the wheel and remove the car from the stands.
8. Press several times on the rear of the car to self-adjust the suspension.
9. Finally tighten the lever bolt nut to a torque of 66.6-82.3 N·m (6.8-8.4 kgf·m).
10. The silent block of the second lever is replaced in the same way.
