To perform the work, you will need special keys for brake pipe fittings.

Removal



1. Prepare the car for work ("Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Clean the pressure regulator and the regulator drive mechanism from dirt.

3. Treat the brake pipe fittings screwed into the regulator with penetrating lubricant.

4. Using a slotted screwdriver, bend back the edges of the lever retainer.

6. Four brake pipes are connected to the regulator: two supply pipes (from the master brake cylinder) and two outlets (to the working cylinders). The regulator body has relief arrows indicating the connection points for the supply and discharge pipes. To make assembly easier, we mark the order of connecting the brake pipes to the regulator.



7. Using a special key, loosen the tightening of the brake pipe fitting that approaches the pressure regulator from the end, holding the regulator tip with a 21 mm open-end wrench.

9. Finally, unscrew the fittings using an open-end wrench of the same size.

Warning: When disconnecting the tubes from the regulator, make sure that the tubes do not rotate together with the fittings. If the tubes are "soured" in the fittings, replace them.


10. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the regulator bracket to the car body.

11. Remove the pressure regulator assembly with the bracket and elastic lever.

12. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the rear regulator to the bracket.

14. Remove the brackets and levers from the regulator.

Installation



1. Assemble and install the regulator in reverse order.

2. Connect the brake pipes in accordance with the marks made during disassembly.



3. Tighten the tube fittings with a special key.

4. Bleed the hydraulic drive of the brake system ("Hydraulic brake drive - bleeding").

5. Adjust the pressure regulator drive ("Rear Brake Fluid Pressure Regulator - Adjustment").
