The fuel rail is removed to replace the injectors and repair the cylinder head, as well as when replacing the rail itself.

You will need: a 5 mm Allen key, a flat-blade screwdriver, and a 17 mm key (two).

1. Reduce the pressure in the fuel system (see "Loss of fuel pressure in the engine fuel system").

2. Remove the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Removing and installing the decorative engine cover").

4. Remove the air filter (see "Removing and installing the air filter").

5. Remove the throttle assembly from the intake manifold (see "Removing and installing the throttle assembly").

6. Remove the intake manifold (see «Replacing the cylinder head cover gasket»).

9. Perform an initial check of the injector windings. To do this, connect the ohmmeter one by one to the contacts in the injector connectors and measure the resistance of their windings in each case. It should be 11–15 Ohms. If the resistance value differs from the specified value when measuring the injector, then this injector is faulty and must be replaced (see "Checking and replacing injectors").

Note: Please note: the connection between the tube and the ramp is sealed with a rubber ring. Any ring that is too compressed, hardened or torn must be replaced.

Caution! If any injector remains in the engine intake pipe when removing the fuel rail, replace its sealing rings and retainer.

15. Install and secure the fuel rail in the reverse order of removal, lubricating the injector sealing rings with engine oil or WD-40.

Note: When installing the fuel rail, to prevent the injector wiring harness from touching the engine, secure it to the rail with new plastic ties.

16. After installing the fuel rail, connecting the fuel line and connecting the wiring harness block, secure the negative terminal on the battery, turn the ignition key to position "I" (ignition) 3-4 times with intervals of 2-3 seconds between turns and check the tightness of the pipeline connection and injector seals.

17. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
