If the oil leak from under the cylinder head cover cannot be eliminated by tightening the cover mounting nuts, replace the sealing layer of sealant.
You will need: an 8 mm socket wrench, 10 mm and 13 mm wrenches, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers, nippers or a knife.
1. Disconnect the ignition coil wiring harness connectors…
2. …and the injector wiring harness.
3. Using your fingers to squeeze the latches, disconnect the ignition coil wiring harness connector...
4. …and the injector wiring harness connector from the front bracket.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolts with a 10 mm spanner and remove the front...
6. ...and rear brackets.
7. Loosen the clamp..
8. …and remove the crankcase ventilation system exhaust hose from the cylinder head cover pipe.
9. Loosen the clamp..
10. …and remove the crankcase ventilation system exhaust hose from the cylinder block pipe.
11. Remove the screw securing the oil level indicator (dipstick) guide bracket…
12. …and remove the guide together with the pointer.
13. Using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the two nuts securing the intake manifold to the cylinder head cover.
14. Using a 13 mm spanner, unscrew the three nuts and remove the two bolts securing the intake manifold to the cylinder head…
15. …and remove the intake manifold.
16. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, unscrew the fifteen cylinder head cover mounting bolts...
17. ...push the cover away from the cylinder head using the protrusions located along its perimeter...
18. ...and remove the lid.
Note: Before installing the cover, clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and cover from old sealant and degrease them. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the mating surface of the cylinder head.
19. Install the parts in reverse order.
