With these malfunctions, first try to adjust the throttle actuator or replace the cable (see «Checking and adjusting the throttle cable»). If this does not lead to a positive result, replace the throttle assembly.
You will need: socket wrench (head) «at 13», Phillips screwdriver.
Attention! It is forbidden to turn out the screws 2 fastening the throttle valve. If they are then loosely screwed in and locked out, a loose screw can get into the engine cylinder and damage it. The position of the throttle valve is adjusted at the factory, therefore it is not recommended to touch the adjusting screw 1 of the throttle valve.
1. Drain the liquid from the engine cooling system (see «Coolant replacement»).
Note. With a known skill, the coolant can not be drained. On a cold engine, relieve excess pressure in the engine cooling system by unscrewing and then tightening the expansion tank cap. Prepare appropriately sized plugs with which to plug the hoses immediately after disconnecting them from the throttle assembly. The loss of coolant with this method will be negligible.
2. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
3. Open the hood and remove the decorative engine cover (see «Removal and installation of a decorative casing of the engine»).
4. Having pressed the latches, disconnect the wiring harness pads from the throttle position sensor..
5.... and idle speed controller.
6. Disconnect the air supply hose from the throttle assembly (see «Cleaning the crankcase ventilation system»).
7. Loosen the clamp of the first hose for heating the throttle body..
8.... and remove the hose.
9. Loosen the clamp of the second hose for heating the throttle body..
10.... and remove the hose.
11. Loosen the fastening clamp..
12.... and disconnect the hose of the small branch of the crankcase ventilation system from the throttle assembly fitting.
13. Loosen the clamp of the canister purge hose..
14.... and remove the hose.
15. Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle assembly sector (see «Checking and adjusting the throttle cable»).
16. Turn off two nuts of fastening of throttle knot …
17.... and remove the throttle assembly from the intake manifold studs.
18. If, when replacing the throttle assembly, the idle speed controller and throttle position sensor are not installed on the new assembly, rearrange them from the old assembly.
To do this, unscrew the two screws securing them.
Note. Replace the damaged foam ring under the throttle position sensor.
19. Clean the contaminated throttle assembly with carburetor cleaner, having previously removed the sensor and regulator from it. Also clean the dirty regulator and sensor (do not use solvents for cleaning).
20. Install the throttle assembly and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
21. Adjust throttle actuator (see «Checking and adjusting the throttle cable»).
