Throttle assembly 8-valve engine

Throttle body 16-valve engine
Removal
Place the vehicle in a work area, apply the parking brake, turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire terminal from the battery.
For cars with K4M engine
Remove the intake silencer and air filter housing (see here).
Disconnect the drive cable from the throttle assembly.
Loosen two bolts and remove throttle assembly 1, Figure 11-6 (replaceable head 8, extension, ratchet).

For cars with K7M engine
Remove the air filter housing (see here).
Disconnect the ball joint 1, Fig. 11-7, of the throttle actuator (flat head screwdriver).

Disconnect the 2-wire connector from the throttle position sensor.
Disconnect the wiring harness from idle speed control valve 4.
Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the throttle body retainer (torx T30 bit screwdriver).
Remove the throttle body 3 by tilting it.
Installation
For cars with K4M engine
Before installing the throttle assembly, install a new gasket on it, having previously lubricated it with engine oil.
Install the throttle assembly 1, Figure 11-6, on the vehicle, tighten the mounting bolts and tighten them. Tightening torque of bolts 14 Nm (1.4 kgf·m) (replaceable head 8, extension, ratchet, torque wrench).
Connect the drive cable to the throttle assembly.
Install the air filter housing and intake silencer.
For cars with K7M engine
Install throttle pipe 3, Figure 11-7.
Install the throttle body retainer and tighten the mounting bolt. Bolt tightening torque 15 Nm (1.5 kgf·m) (torx T30 screwdriver, Torx T30 replacement bit, extension, torque wrench).
Connect the wiring harness to idle speed control valve 4.
Connect the 2-wire connector to the throttle position sensor.
Attach the ball joint 1, Fig. 11-7, of the throttle body drive to the throttle body (pliers).
Install the air filter housing.
Operations for all vehicle configurations
Connect the ground wire terminal to the battery.
