The location and purpose of the switches installed in the instrument panel and in the floor tunnel trim are shown in Chapter "Controls and instrumentation". In some vehicles, switches for heating the front seats are installed in the floor tunnel lining.
The reversing light switch is installed in the gearbox housing next to the starter. When reverse gear is engaged, the switch contacts close, supplying voltage to the corresponding lamps in the rear lights. The gear shift lever is equipped with a reverse gear lock solenoid switch (see "Transmission").
The brake light switch is located under the instrument panel on the brake pedal bracket (see "Brake pedal free play - adjustment").
