In a car, the radiator must be replaced if a coolant leak is detected.

In a car repair shop with special equipment, the radiator can be checked and repaired.

To replace the radiator of the cooling system on the car you will need: a key "10" (a socket head is more convenient), phillips-head screwdriver, long-nose pliers.

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system (see "Replacing the coolant").

2. Remove the radiator electric fan (see "Removal and installation the radiator electric fan with casing").

11. Remove the rubber-metal bushings from the radiator brackets. Replace torn or loose rubber bushings.

12. Rinse the radiator from the outside with a stream of water and dry it. If there are cracks in the plastic radiator tanks, replace the radiator in your vehicle.

13. Check the radiator for leaks by plugging its pipes and lowering it into a container with water, supplying it with air under a pressure of 0.1 MPa (1 kgf/cm.sq.). No air bubbles should appear from the radiator for at least 30 seconds. If the radiator does not fit completely into the container, check it sequentially from all sides.

14. Install the radiator on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal, having first placed the lower mounting cushions on the radiator pins and inserted the upper mounting bushings into the brackets.

15. Install the radiator electric fan and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

16. Fill with coolant (see "Replacing the coolant").
