Removal, replacing and installing the trunk lid lock (Kalina 1118)

The trunk lid lock is of a non-separable design and cannot be repaired. Replace the defective lock.

To remove, replace and install the trunk lid lock on a car, you will need: a 10 mm spanner, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Disconnect the rod from the lock drive (see "Removal, replacing and installing the trunk lid lock drive").



3. Disconnect the connector with the trunk lid lock wires...



4. ...unscrew the three nuts securing the trunk lid lock...



5. ...and remove the trunk lid lock together with the drive rod.





6. Remove the two screws securing the trunk lid lock retainer...

7. ...and remove the retainer.

8. Install the trunk lid lock and its drive in the reverse order of removal. Check the reliability and ease of opening of the trunk lid lock.
