Helpful advice. The trunk lid is quite heavy and bulky, so it is recommended to remove and install it with the help of two people.
To remove, install the trunk lid and adjust its position in the opening on the car, you will need: a flat-blade screwdriver, a 10 mm wrench.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Open the trunk. Bend back the flap on the trunk trim (the flap is secured with Velcro) and disconnect the trunk lid wiring harness connector...
3. ...remove the rubber seal...
4. ...and remove the wire harness from the hole.
5. Remove the wiring harness holder from the trunk lid hinge.
6. Unscrew the three nuts securing the trunk lid to the hinge on one side, the three nuts on the other side and remove the trunk lid.
7. Install the trunk lid on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal. Adjust the position of the trunk lid using the oval holes in the hinges. Without tightening the nuts completely, carefully close the trunk lid and, moving it, adjust its position in the opening. The gaps between the rear fenders and the trunk lid should be uniform and equal. Then carefully close the trunk lid and finally tighten the nuts that secure it.
