The rough road sensor measures the amplitude of the body vibrations and sends a signal to the controller. When the signal threshold is exceeded, the controller disables the misfire diagnostic function.
To remove and replace the rough road sensor on your vehicle, you will need a Phillips-head screwdriver.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Overcoming the resistance of the metal clamps, disconnect the wiring harness connector from the terminals of the rough road sensor.

3. Remove the two screws securing the rough road sensor to the bracket and remove the rough road sensor from the vehicle.
4. Install the rough road sensor on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
