Replacing the phase sensor (Kalina 1118)

On the car, the phase sensor is located in the cylinder head plug. The principle of the phase sensor is based on the Hall effect. There is a special pin on the camshaft. When the pin passes against the end of the phase sensor, the phase sensor outputs a low-level voltage pulse to the controller (approximately 0 V), which corresponds to the position of the piston of the 1st cylinder in the compression stroke.

To replace the phase sensor on a car, you will need a 10 mm wrench.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Press the plastic latch with wires away from the phase sensor.



3. Unscrew the two bolts securing the phase sensor and remove it.

4. Install the phase sensor on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
