Figure 37c shows accelerator pedal 2 and brake pedal 1. When installing an automatic transmission, there is no clutch pedal.
Lever positions:
- R (parking) - used to prevent the car from rolling in the parking lot or when starting the engine. In this case, the parking brake can be turned on or off.
- R (reverse) - reverse gear. It can be turned on only after a complete stop of the car, when the engine is idling.
- N (neutral gear) - is used when starting the engine in the parking lot simultaneously with the parking brake applied. In addition, this position of the gear lever can be used to start the engine if it suddenly stops while driving, but without using the parking brake.
Attention! If you accidentally move the shift lever to N while driving, let the engine slow down before shifting into D (turns on without pressing the lock button) and accelerate again.
- D (driving) - used for starting and driving in automatic gearshift mode. In this mode, in order to quickly overtake or overcome a significant rise, fully depress the accelerator pedal. In this case, the transmission will automatically shift to a lower gear depending on the current vehicle speed.
- 2 (second gear) - used when driving uphill and for effective engine braking.
- 1 (low gear) - used when overcoming steep slopes at low speed, as well as when driving in difficult road conditions (sand, deep mud, etc.). In addition, this gear provides the most effective engine braking on steep descents.
- O/D - button «Overdrive». Used for economical driving mode.
