- 1 - the handle of the switch of operating modes of the fan of the heating and ventilation unit.
- 2 - handle of the temperature control of the heating and ventilation unit.
- 3 - control knob for the recirculation mode.
- 4 - handle for controlling the air flow distributor.
The heating and ventilation unit of the car is designed to create a comfortable air temperature in the cabin, the value of which is regulated by the control unit for the ventilation and heating system (pic. 38). However, it cannot ensure that the temperature in the cabin is lower than that of the outside air.
In a variant version, there is an air filter in the air supply box of the heating and ventilation unit, which is designed to clean the air entering the car interior from dust, pollen, soot and small insects. The filter is replaced and the drain hole in the bulkhead is cleaned at certified PSSS every 15,000 km (when operating on dusty roads - if necessary).
Warning!
- Proper use of the controls of the heating and ventilation system in accordance with the recommendations below allows you to increase traffic safety by quickly cleaning windows from snow and ice, as well as by eliminating fogging.
- Remember - quick cleaning of windows and the most efficient interior heating are possible only when the engine is fully warmed up!
Handle 3 of the recirculation damper control lever is used to supply outside air to the passenger compartment, while it is in the extreme left position , and when handle 3 is in the extreme right position , the supply of outside air to the vehicle interior is blocked (recirculation mode). This mode can be used when driving through a tunnel or when driving in «traffic jam» to prevent air saturated with exhaust gases from entering the cabin, as well as to quickly warm up the air in the cabin (e.g. in parking lots).
Warning! The recirculation mode can only be switched on for a short time, since in this case fresh air does not enter the passenger compartment, and the windows may fog up.
To increase the air supply to the passenger compartment, move the handle 1 of the heater electric fan operation mode switch to one of four positions. Position 1 is the minimum speed for supplying air to the passenger compartment, positions 2 and 3 are medium speeds, and position 4 is maximum. In switch position 0, the fan does not work, there is no fresh air supply to the passenger compartment.
Attention! When driving with the windows closed, it is recommended to turn on the fan of the heating and ventilation unit to create excess pressure in the passenger compartment (to prevent dust from entering through body leaks), and also to avoid fogging of glasses.
Handle 4 of the control unit serves to distribute the air supply and can be installed in any intermediate position (between the characters below) to fine-tune the air distribution.
If the handle 4 is set with its white mark opposite the symbol, air enters the lower part of the passenger compartment, into the areas of the driver's and passengers' feet.
If the handle 4 is set with its mark opposite the symbol, air enters the lower part of the passenger compartment, into the areas of the driver's and passengers' feet, as well as through the windshield blower nozzles and the front door glass blower nozzles.
If the handle 4 is set with its mark opposite the symbol, air enters through the windshield blowing nozzles and the front door glass blowing nozzles.
If the handle 4 is set with its mark opposite the symbol, air enters through the side and central nozzles into the upper part of the car interior to blow the driver and passengers.
By direct action on nozzle deflectors 1, 2, 3 and 4 (pic. 39) the intensity of the air supply is regulated by changing the position of the deflectors up to their complete closure. The desired nozzle is opened by pressing a special recess in the deflector. The rotation of the deflector regulates the direction of the air flow.
