- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - first, second, third, fourth, fifth gear.
- R - reverse gear.
Neutral position - between third and fourth gear.
Make sure the shift lever is in neutral before starting the engine.
The vehicle is equipped with a mechanical interlock for the reverse gear selection line. To move in reverse, stop the car, press the clutch pedal, after pausing (at least 3 seconds), «drown» shift lever down to the stop, then move the lever to the left as far as it will go and move it forward in the direction of the vehicle.
If you cannot shift into gear, return the lever to neutral, release the clutch pedal, then depress the clutch again and try shifting again.
Pay attention to the complete disengagement of the clutch when shifting gears, for which the clutch pedal should be pressed all the way. Otherwise, it may be difficult to shift gears and increase the wear of the synchronizers.
Engage forward gears according to the diagram on the handle, without applying excessive force to the gear lever, as well as efforts that can lead to «sinking» lever.
In a variant version, the mechanical gearbox has a cable control drive, the diagram of which is shown in Figure 37a. To engage reverse gear, pull the shift lever from neutral to the right as far as it will go and move it back in the direction of the vehicle.
Attention!
- Engage reverse gear only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
- Reverse gear is engaged only when the vehicle is stationary and not earlier than three seconds after depressing the clutch pedal.
- While driving, do not keep your hand on the shift knob, this can lead to damage and premature wear of the gear shift parts (do not apply force to the gear lever handle).
