We carry out the work in accordance with the maintenance plan (see "Maintenance plan") - every 180,000 km.

To perform the work, you will need an inspection pit or overpass, a wide container with a capacity of at least 4 liters, and a funnel with a hose or a special oil syringe.

We carry out the check with the engine not running.

To perform a number of operations, such as replacing the front wheel drive oil seal, you will need to drain the oil.

Recommendation. It is better to change the oil immediately after a trip, while it is hot, so that the oil drains faster and more completely along with suspended wear particles.

Warning! The temperature of the heated oil can reach 90°C, be careful.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Place the car on an inspection ditch or overpass

3. Place a container under the gearbox housing drain hole.

4. Using a 17 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the drain plug.

4. Using a 17 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the drain plug.

5. Drain the oil.

5. Drain the oil.

6. After waiting for the oil to completely drain from the box, screw the plug back into place.

Recommendation. If the oil drained from the gearbox is dark in color and contains visible metal particles, the gearbox should be flushed. To do this, pour 1-1.5 liters of special flushing oil into the gearbox crankcase. With one of the drive wheels off the ground, start the engine and engage first gear. After 5-7 minutes, turn off the engine, drain the flushing oil and fill with clean transmission oil.

7. Using the same key, unscrew the plug of the inspection hole (see photo above).

8. Insert the lower end of the hose into the inspection hole.

8. Insert the lower end of the hose into the inspection hole.

9. Insert a funnel into the upper end of the hose.

10. Pour transmission oil into the gearbox in small portions through a funnel (to the lower edge of the inspection hole).

11. After filling the oil, remove the hose with the funnel.

12. After waiting until the excess oil stops flowing out of the inspection hole, screw the plug back in.

13. After finishing the work, remove any oil drips with a rag and install the removed parts.
