We carry out the work in accordance with the maintenance plan (see "Maintenance plan") - every 15,000 km. It is necessary to check the oil level if transmission oil leaks are detected during the vehicle inspection. To check the transmission oil level, a control hole is made on the side wall of the gearbox housing, closed with a threaded plug.

To perform the work, you will need an inspection pit or overpass, a wide container with a capacity of at least 4 liters, and a funnel with a hose or a special oil syringe.

We carry out the check with the engine not running.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Place the car on an inspection ditch or overpass

3. Remove the engine splash guard (see "Engine Mudguard - Removal and Installation").

4. Using a 17 mm socket or open-end wrench, unscrew the inspection hole plug.

4. Using a 17 mm socket or open-end wrench, unscrew the inspection hole plug.

5. Using a paper strip rolled into a tube, we check the oil level in the gearbox (it should be at the level of the lower edge of the inspection hole).

6. If the level is lower, add transmission oil to the gearbox (see below).

7. After completing the check, screw the plug into the inspection hole.
