Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the vehicle for maintenance and repairs»).
2. Remove the engine mudguard (see «Mudguard engine - check the technical condition»).
Attention! To avoid burns, work should be carried out after the parts of the exhaust system have cooled to a safe temperature.
3. We process all threaded connections with penetrating lubricant.
4. Disconnect the additional muffler from the catalytic manifold (see «Additional muffler - replacement»).
5. Disconnect the oxygen concentration sensor pads from the engine compartment wiring harness pads and remove the upper oxygen concentration sensor (see «Oxygen concentration sensor - check and replacement»).
6. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the five bolts securing the collector protective cover (three at the bottom and two at the top, the photo shows only two bolts at the bottom).
7. Remove the protective and remove it from the engine compartment.
8. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the catalytic manifold to the bracket.
9. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the eight nuts securing the catalytic manifold.
10. Remove the catalytic manifold.
11. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head studs.
12. We unscrew the lower oxygen concentration sensor with a 22 mm key (see «Oxygen concentration sensor - check and replacement»).
On a car that has been in operation for a long time, as a rule, it is not possible to unscrew the bolt securing the catalytic colleague to the bracket without breaking off the heads. Also, the bracket itself is damaged by corrosion. In these cases, defective parts must be replaced together with the manifold.
Installation
Install the catalytic manifold in reverse order. We replace the gasket and parts damaged by corrosion.
