We perform the work with an assistant.
Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
Caution! To avoid burns, work should be performed after the exhaust system parts have cooled to a safe temperature.
2. Disconnect the flange of the main muffler from the additional one (see "Main muffler - replacement").
3. Treat the three flange mounting nuts with penetrating lubricant.
4. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the three nuts securing the exhaust pipe to the catalytic manifold.
5. Move the inlet pipe of the additional muffler away from the flange of the catalytic manifold and remove the sealing gasket.
6. Disconnect the two suspension cushions from the brackets of the additional muffler (see "Exhaust System Suspension - Replacement of Cushions").
Note: When performing the following operations, an assistant must support the additional muffler from falling.
7. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two mounting nuts and remove the exhaust system suspension cushion bracket.
8. Similarly, remove the second suspension bracket and remove the additional muffler.
Installation
We install the additional muffler in the reverse order, replacing the gasket with a new one. If necessary, we replace damaged or loose muffler suspension cushions...
