Replacing the additional muffler (Priora 2170)

1. Disconnect the hinged connection of the pipes of the additional and main mufflers (see "Replacing the main muffler").



2. Bend back tab 1 of the locking plate and two locking tabs 2 of the catalytic converter heat shield.



3. Unscrew the three nuts securing the flange of the additional muffler's inlet pipe to the exhaust manifold flange, remove the locking plate..



4. …and a heat shield.





5. After lifting the additional muffler, remove its bracket from the front suspension cushion.



6. Remove the flange of the additional muffler inlet pipe from the exhaust manifold studs and remove the sealing gasket.

Note: Replace the additional muffler intake pipe flange sealing gasket with a new one each time the connection is disassembled.

7. Supporting the additional muffler, remove its bracket from the rear suspension cushion in the same way as removing the bracket from the front suspension cushion (see item 5)…

8. …and remove the additional muffler.

9. Install the additional muffler and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Don't forget to lock the nuts securing the muffler inlet pipe flange by bending the tabs of the locking plate and heat shield onto them.
